Visitor Visa
Each year, Canada welcomes approximately 50 million people from many different countries. They come to Canada for a variety of reasons, including tourism, reuniting with family and friends, and business. Whether you are coming for a few days or a few months, you will need to meet some important requirements to enter Canada.
There are many reasons to visit Canada: it is home to 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and no other country is as beautiful or as varied as it is. Late last year, Lonely Planet released its “Best in Travel” list for 2017. And at the top of that “Top 10 Countries List” – Canada was chosen as the number one country to visit this year.
You can come to Canada as a tourist. During your stay, you will need to have enough money to feed yourself and everyone else included in your application.
Most travelers will need to apply for a tourist visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA) when using a Canadian airport. Canada has special visas for vacation, visiting friends and family, and for activities such as short-term study and business. There are two types of temporary resident visas: one valid for a single entry into Canada and one valid for a stay of a certain length of time. Learn more about visitor visa options and how to extend your stay.
You must show that you are a true tourist or visitor and intend to leave Canada at the end of your stay. In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements for the Temporary Visitor category, applicants will need either a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Your family members may need a visa to enter Canada. If you are inviting a friend or family member, you should check the list of countries/regions whose citizens require visas. If your friend’s or family member’s country is on this list, he or she must apply for and be granted a visa before arriving in Canada. When you apply for a tourist visa, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will also ask you to submit a letter of invitation to support your application. Most visitors to Canada can stay for up to six months at a time. Those wishing to stay longer than that must apply for and be granted an extension.
Our Canadian immigration services have a variety of options that you can choose from: full representation, final review, and do-it-yourself packages. If you have any questions, you can schedule a consultation to speak with an immigration consultant.
