Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program
MPNP
The MPNP is an immigration program administered by the Province of Manitoba. Through this program, Manitoba nominates qualified candidates, such as skilled workers, foreign graduates and entrepreneurs, to work and settle in Manitoba, thereby positively impacting Manitoba’s economy.
Manitoba is the fifth most populous province in Canada. Manitoba’s main industries include agriculture, energy and environment, financial services, insurance and mining. Because of Manitoba’s tremendous number of job opportunities, the MPNP program yields positive results for experienced workers and graduates every year.
SKILLED
Qualified internationally trained workers must answer a series of questions online and submit the questionnaire to the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool, which includes questionnaires from other qualified candidates. Based on the answers submitted, the applicant receives a score. MPNP then ranks candidates based on several factors, and the candidate with the highest score is encouraged to apply to MPNP.
One of the best features of the EOI is that there is no limit on the number of candidates who can submit Declarations of Interest and no deadline.
There are two subcategories in the skilled worker stream.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba: Temporary workers and international graduate students who are currently working in Manitoba and have been referred by a Manitoba employer for full-time, permanent employment are eligible to apply.
Manitoba Work Experience Pathway : This pathway is available to applicants who are currently working in Manitoba on a temporary work permit.
Direct Employer Recruitment : This pathway is for applicants who have interviewed with a Manitoba employer at MPNP or with a relevant employer outside of Canada. Applicants must receive an invitation from the MPNP to apply for a provincial nomination.
Overseas Qualified Workers : This stream uses a point system to evaluate candidates from outside of Canada. Applications are accepted from eligible workers who have a close connection to Manitoba through family or friends, have education or experience in Manitoba, or have received an invitation from MPNP.
Manitoba Express Entry Program : This program is open to express entry candidates eligible for other MPNP programs.
Human Capital Pathway : Open to foreign skilled workers with experience in in-demand professions in Manitoba and those who demonstrate the ability to potentially establish themselves in the labour market in those professions.
INTERNATIONAL
BUSINESS
This stream is geared towards international graduates of post-secondary institutions in the province who meet the eligibility criteria for various pathways:
Career Employment Pathway
Graduate Internship Pathway

This stream allows the province to recruit and nominate eligible foreign business owners who are intending to move to Manitoba to establish, purchase a business or co-own an existing business in Manitoba.
